Özlem Şahin Represents Türkiye at the BRICS+ Fashion Summit and Moscow Fashion Week

From September 26 to October 1, 2026, Moscow became a meeting point for fashion leaders, designers, buyers and industry professionals from around the world, hosting two major events: the BRICS+ Fashion Summit and Moscow Fashion Week.

Özlem Şahin, Founder and CEO of Think Fashion and Modest Fashion Weeks by Think Fashion, joined both events, returning to the BRICS+ Fashion Summit following her participation in 2025 and taking the stage this year as a speaker representing Türkiye.

A Global Conversation on the Future of Fashion

Officially recognised as part of the BRICS agenda, the BRICS+ Fashion Summit has welcomed fashion professionals from 109 countries throughout its history, creating a global meeting point for rapidly growing fashion markets.

This year’s programme brought together more than 250 speakers across key areas including creativity, manufacturing and logistics, marketing and sales, entrepreneurship and investment.

Özlem Şahin joined the session “The Macroeconomics of Fashion: Which Megatrends Will Shape the Industry’s Future?”, sharing her perspective on the shifts transforming fashion demand, production and international expansion.

“What makes the BRICS+ Fashion Summit valuable is its ability to bring these ecosystems into the same conversation — connecting designers, retailers, fashion platforms, technology companies, institutions, and industry leaders,” she said.

The discussion also highlighted the growing opportunities between Türkiye and Russia, particularly across design, production, retail, investment and international market entry.

Strengthening Fashion Connections Between Türkiye and Russia

Türkiye and Russia share a long-standing commercial relationship, with textiles and ready-to-wear among its most established areas.

Today, that relationship is evolving beyond production and supply, opening the door to new collaborations between designers, brands, retailers and fashion platforms.

“Türkiye and Russia already share one of the most active trade relationships in our region, and fashion is one of its most visible chapters,” Özlem Şahin added.

“What we want to do in Moscow is take that relationship a step further — from supplying a market to building in it together, through joint projects, shared platforms and long-term partnerships between Turkish and Russian designers, brands and retailers.”

From the Summit to the Runway

The week continued with Moscow Fashion Week, which presented more than 70 shows featuring designers from Russia, Türkiye, Spain, the United Kingdom, China, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Nicaragua and other international markets.

Turkish designers Gökhan Yavaş and Murat Aytulum presented their collections during this season’s programme, continuing Türkiye’s presence on the Moscow runway following Emre Erdemoğlu’s participation in the previous edition.

Throughout the week, Özlem Şahin attended runway shows and connected with designers, buyers and industry professionals, exploring opportunities for future collaboration and international growth.

Continuing a Global Fashion Journey

These conversations and connections reflect the vision Modest Fashion Weeks by Think Fashion has been building since 2016: creating international platforms where designers, buyers, media, creators and industry leaders can meet, exchange ideas and build new opportunities together.

Özlem Şahin’s participation in the BRICS+ Fashion Summit and Moscow Fashion Week marks another step in strengthening connections between Türkiye and the wider global fashion ecosystem.

As new markets, creative communities and industry platforms become increasingly connected, Modest Fashion Weeks by Think Fashion continues to contribute to the conversations shaping fashion’s next chapter.
